A Ramble About The Changing World

The world is changing whether we like it or not. What was new is now old. The good old days were not good for everyone. Gays can get married in this country now and in other countries. There is a person of color who is president of the United States. Your cell phone replaces a lot of different things like your camera and your personal music player. Boys play with dolls and have tea parties while girls wear cammo and drive a pickup truck. Girls have more opportunities to be awesome women. Racism seems to be sticking around although things are getting better. Men stay at home to care for family and children. Women are running big companies and a few have run countries. Some women are even ministers. The old boy network is being shattered daily. Johnny Carson is no longer on the Tonight Show. Netflix is a noun and a verb, so is Google for that matter. Change is hard, even for me. Traditions adapt to modern times. We are a digital world with some analog people. The struggle continues but more and more the world is changing. Are you going to keep up or fall by the way side?

A Returning Blogger

When a blogger returns to the scene after a absence it’s a joyous thing. Over time you get used to seeing them post daily and then all of a sudden they disappear so you wonder what happened to them. I am always glad to see folks come back after being away. For some a break is needed because they get writers block or perhaps they need to find their passion again.

Sometimes a bloggers computer is on the fritz or perhaps there are temporary Internet problems which make blogging impossible. I have taken breaks from blogging but I am not gone very long because this is a passion for me. Unfortunately some bloggers have to leave for safety sake and that is a horrible way to be forced offline.

To all who have come and gone and are back again its a joyous time. Don’t stay gone so long next time! Keep on blogging!

Welcome To The Tony Burgess Homepage Or Something Like That

Internet1I have done some tweaking of my site here to be a little more retro in web speak. This site is more than just a blog it’s a homepage or a hub if you will for self expression. This site is where I chronicle & curate the sacred, serious & silly things in my life. My homepage is also a way for me to connect with fellow bloggers from all walks of life. So in a way this is my home and I invite everyone to it. I have also made a couple of changes to the front page if you would like to check that out too. Thank you for your continued interest. Keep on blogging good people.

Deleting Your Blog, It Solves Nothing

A blog is a tool for expression, a way to share your feelings. I find it very therapeutic and recreational. For many their blog has become their voice when they have something to say.

Deleting your blog really solves nothing. The problem with deleting is that an important part of your life goes away. On a platform like WordPress where there are millions of other voices you have to be picky in who you listen to and how you relate to those people. Not everyone will be sensitive and caring online. I have discovered its best to restart and be selective to who you want to connect with.

I still very much believe in being original, myself and to say what I have to say myself. So with that being said I want others who do the same.

So to all those considering deleting your blogs, think again, resist that. Your blog can be your friend.

You Know I Am A Dork Right?…Really, I Am!

There are a lot of people who follow me who are way more interesting than I am. You do know I am a middle-aged dork right? Especially you younger folks, I am like the crazy uncle you were told about. Thanks for tagging along regardless.

Easier Said Than Done

Some days it’s easier to post because ideas and things are flowing like a river. Other days its more like a dry desert. I want to post something daily even if it isn’t fully inspirational or it seems like I am phoning it in. One day I will take the day off and just do a ton of commentary on the blogs I follow. As I always say, “Keep on Blogging” and there are times when that is easier said than done.

Thanks for following along, even when I am not giving it my A-game.
