Something About Being Respectful

I am passionate about what I believe and with that being said I really hope I am respectful to others who might share my view or passion. Some folks who happen to be conservatives on Facebook are moving to other social platforms as a protest to the current political climate and to find a more supportive community. This is troubling and I hope I do my best to be considerate and kind.

If I have ever been disrespectful in these weird times, we live in, know that I am sorry and ask forgiveness. My bleeding heart is too big .

We are living in weird times my friends.

The Things You Wish You Had Never Seen

There are many things you come across online or in life in general that you wish you had never seen. For me yesterday was one of those situations where I saw something that was very surprising. The things that you can’t “unsee” seem to stick with you for a while but soon become a fleeting memory. Now some things you come across can disappoint you and leaves a longer impression.

The old saying goes that a picture can paint a thousand words and you know that is timeless wisdom. Maybe we need to look at things a new way or get new things to look at. Don’t forget to stop and smell the lovely roses (but scent is a sense that is for another post)

See what I mean?

Why You Should Blog Reason #1018

I have often thought blogging is very therapeutic and gives you a chance to share your woes with others in the same boat. Right now, we need that support for one another. Thanks for your candor and sharing your experiences that can help everyone make it through another day.

As I always say, keep on blogging my friends.

Saturday Wisdom – Old School Mindset

I know a lot of men who are what you would call “old school” guys who embrace the culture and understanding of how they were raised. To be honest I have a little of that, but I never want to be so “old school” so that I cannot understand what it means to live in the here and now.

It is important to evolve and grow as one gets older. Relating to my friends in their 20’s is as important to me as relating to my peers. Some folks struggle with being relevant and I do to a point. Still don’t fully grasp Tik Tok, Snapchat and some of the lingo of the kids going around today although I will look stuff up to see what’s what.

Being “old school” in some things is good. Manners, how you treat others, respect, kindness, love, and some grace should be timeless. Those are things I will not abandon for something else that doesn’t make people feel appreciated.

Doing things to keep you feeling young in spirit is good. In my mind eating a meal with people of all ages would be fun. There is much to learn from one another. A lot of 20-somethings are out there with very old souls and some 50-somethings who never grew up. Maturity and aging are two different things.

Personally, I am a 51-year-old who frequently acts like a 15-year-old. It’s the nerd/geek in me that won’t let me be an old guy. And for that I am grateful.

Rock on good people.

Writing The Story Of 2020

Whoever in the hell is writing this episode of life called 2020 has done their job. They can put down their pen or step away from their keyboard. What we have seen in these months can only come from someone like Stephen King. Think about all that is happened, and it seems like a fever dream.

From COVID to the presidential elections to our own personal situations it’s been a tough year for us all.

Each day that passes is a new page, each month is a new chapter. What is being written is scary. Every morning you arise you wonder what chaos will meet you. So far 2020 isn’t a rom com.

As a blogger, I get to chronicle all the weird stuff that has happened. I am hoping for more positive things for the future. Part of that writing is a history of what we have all been through. Some of it is unbelievable.

I am not certain 2021 will be much better. I hope that won’t be a sequel but a whole new story with fresh ideas and new directions.
