It’s British, It’s about Christmas…what’s not to love. An all-star cast and the writing of Richard Curtis make this brilliant. I love Bill Nighy in this flick, he is my spirit animal if I were an aging rock star who cusses like the rainbow. This movie is a tradition this time of year.
1. Treat every day like Christmas
2. There’s room for everyone on the nice list.
3. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
“Elf” the holiday movie of the evening featuring Will Ferrell as Buddy The Elf and James Caan as his dad Walter Hobbs. This movie has become a must see every season.
After work we are headed to the Majestic Theatre in downtown Chattanooga to see Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. It’s going to be a visual treat and full of magic. This film is from the Harry Potter universe and there will be lots of familiar things. I will have a review for you this weekend.
Dr. Stephen Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave. He quickly learns that the enclave is at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.
I don’t know a whole lot about this character but the previews make this movie a visual feast for the eyes. We are going to see it in IMAX 3D today and I am sure it will be stunning. Benedict Cumberbatch is a hot commodity right now and he seems to be the ideal actor to play this role. I will share my thoughts later.
This movie from 1984 is the motion picture cousin to Superman. Helen Slater and Faye Dunaway are good in a pretty campy flick. In my opinion the TV series is a more serious telling of the story of Kara Zor El from Krypton. Slater is s good actress and they could have done a better movie at the time.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Swedish: Män som hatar kvinnor – literally – Men who hate women) is a 2009 Swedish dramathriller film based on the novel of the same name by Swedish author/journalist Stieg Larsson. – From Wikipedia
I like this movie because of the grittiness, the intrigue and the way it takes the viewer into a very different world of murder and how to cover it up Swedish style which is a lot like it’s done everywhere else.
