Trowback Thursday – The Power Station – Communication #TBT

This is a super group featuring Duran Duran’s Andy Taylor and John Taylor with the late Tony Thompson and late Robert Palmer on lead vocals. “Communication” is one of my favorites from this record.

Communication changes in the technology we use, however we should always try to focus on the message and being clear and concise. It’s a say what you mean and mean what you say sort of thing. The conversations in your head need to sometime be open to those who need to hear what you are saying.

Music Monday – Phil Madeira – The Ghost of Johnny Cash

I heard Phil Madeira at the Episcopal Churchmen of Tennessee conference this past weekend. Madeira has worked with a lot of great musicians in the Nashville Area. He is a fellow Episcopalian too which make this even cooler. He has a edgy, classic sound that speaks to the soul. Check him out.

I went to my first Weird Al Yankovic concert a few weeks ago and his latest CD is “Mandatory Fun” This is a picture of the video screen that he used to provide clips of his career where he was having fun and to inspire his audience to have fun too.

Tunes Tuesday – Foreigner – “Urgent”

I normally post a Tunes Tuesday but this weeks installment comes a day later. This song from Foreigner is a classic and speaks to how life is Urgent, love is Urgent, everything is Urgent.

Music Monday – Blondie – Hanging On The Telephone

I am a big fan of this group. They have been featured on this blog on several occasions. This tune is from “Parallel Lines” a record released in 1978. My life is spent hanging on the telephone in “one way or another” (that’s for another post).

Flashback Friday – Duran Duran – Rio #FBF

With the Olympics starting tonight in Rio this seems appropriate. From 1982 this is “Rio” by Duran Duran.
