Ones identity is an outward and inward expression of who they are. Everything from race, gender, occupation, orientation, religion, family, community and education make us who we are in many ways. Our identity can come from people and things that influence us. How we live and work can be a part of telling someone who we are. Sometimes our identity can be a trademark and sometimes it can be a liability. Our connections can identify who we are. Next time you take a look at your ID you can get a snapshot of who you are and where you come from. The most important thing is to be yourself as your primary identity.

Something About Selfies
For me selfies are a snapshot of how one is feeling and experiencing life in a singular moment. It doesn’t have to be about being narcissistic or self-absorbed. But you and I know sometimes its about saying look at me, look at me. I want you to see me in all my glory. Selfies have a purpose but they can also be a mirror into the soul and the soul isn’t always happy go-lucky. So snap a self picture when it tells your story in the moment.

The Cool Thing About Blogging
There are many things that are cool about blogging but I enjoy seeing how you all live your lives and enjoy the things you are passionate about. I think that is what this medium does very well is that we can share things about ourselves, where we live and what drives us. We get to see what the weather is in other parts of the world or a new grandchild being born, a new recipe that has really become a family favorite, what new outfit we are wearing these days. Of course there is the opportunity to share the stuff we are going through and to seek advice when things are not easy and we are struggling. This is the one thing that keeps us connected and are the ties that bind. I find everyday peoples stories and lives more fascinating than those who are famous. Heck we are all famous on the web.

Sometimes An Upgrade Isn’t A Upgrade, Just Saying
I am a Linux user and every few months there is a release of updated operating systems with loads of new things and bug fixes. Like the geek I am I check them out to see how they run and function. I have been testing three versions of the Ubuntu OS and I realize that staying put with what I am running which is Ubuntu Mate 16.04 is what’s best. iPhone users know what I am talking about when a new phone is on the market yearly it seems. Keeping up with technology let alone the Joneses is hard enough.
So sometimes an upgrade isn’t worth the hassle doing something new just because of some shiny new features that might cost one time and money. There must be a really good reason to need to switch to something new/different. So, In my thinking there is nothing wrong with staying put and making the best of what you already have.
I won’t lie I would love the new Google Pixel phone but I gotta pay the one I have off first which will come in November 2018.
So for the time being lets stick and stay. Keep things simpler that way.
Daily Prompt: Express
This word “Express” in my mind has two meanings I would like to explore quickly.
- I need to have something in my life very quickly so I am going to order it and have express shipping to get it here. Although it will cost me extra it’s so worth it.
- There is something I need to say and I am going to express how I feel about this, that and the other thing.
So as you see there are different ways of looking at the same word that can have different meanings. One is speed in receiving something and the other is sharing your thoughts. So if you look at the world we live in we are seeking fast ways of sharing what we think and hopefully they will buy into it.
