Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

Daily Prompt – Word Of The Day: Parishoner

I am a churchgoer. I have been a Baptist, Methodist and now Episcopalian. Church has been an important part of my life. So that makes me a parishioner. That word to me is about community, responsibility, and discipleship. This word I think is about inclusion, or it should be. Parishioners are about worship to a higher power or God if you will. They are also about service to one another. Being a parishioner is also a calling. It is about abiding in God’s love and the call to the people who gather in divine presence.

How Do You Take Your Coffee or Tea?

Using the above graphic illustrating the varying darkness or lightness of coffee, how do you take your brew. Dark like one or barely any coffee at all in seven. Personally, I am a 3 or a 4 guy myself. The same scale would also work if you are more of a fan of hot tea. What say you?

Daily Prompt – Word Of The Day: Middle Aged

As a person in his 50s, I am certainly middle-aged. My sense of humor gravitates to that of a fifteen-year-old boy, it’s still hard to believe I am middle-aged. My body does tell me a different story there. Stuff hurts, and I need my bifocals to read almost everything.

I still listen to the music of my youth (the 70s and 80s). I try to keep up with what is going on these days to stay somewhat relevant. Being conversant with multiple generations is a good thing.

Being middle-aged, especially as a member of Generation X can be fun at times. Our history has let us see a lot of innovation and changes in the world. Like any era in history, you have got to roll with the punches and be flexible. Getting older is not for the feint of heart, though.

If You Know, You Know

If you know, you know. It just means more symbolically right now. This is from the holiday favorite “Independence Day” where aliens blow lots of stuff up, including much of Washington DC.

Throwback Thursday – Back To The Future at 40

Back To The Future is one of my favorite movies. It was released on June 3, 1985, which makes it 40 years old. It is so hard to believe this classic film is 40, that is the funny thing about time travel. Thank you for the movie magic, memories and timeless adventure Steven, Robert, Alan, Michael, Christopher, Lea and Crispin. As Huey sings, it’s about the Power of Love.

Congratulations All Elite Wrestling Dynamite on 300 Episodes
