My wife has migrated her food blog from Tumblr to WordPress. Please visit http://soupdiva.net which has some great recipes and other information on the stuff that nourishes her body and soul. She has some great stuff there that is easy to fix. Most of it you can do in a slow cooker. Check it out. Thanks!

To My Younger Fellow Blogger Followers
To my younger followers….folks in their 20’s and below, I thank you for following. I hope we are learning about the world we live in from each other. It’s awesome to have the opportunity to blog in a diverse community. I consider you peers, friends, equals. The fact that you follow a dude in his mid-40’s (45 to be excact) is remarkable. Creating a safe place to exchange ideas is important you know. Keep on blogging.
A Short Commentary on Technology
We all have a love/hate relationship with technology. Its to the point where many, me included, can’t do without it. In some ways its making us smarter but other ways kind of dumber. Perhaps its the seduction of a glowing screen and all the things it can do to supposedly make our lives better. I used to call a cell phone a electronic ball and chain for good reason and now I feel the weight of it because I can’t go anywhere without it. We have lived in the wired and now the wireless age and we are more connected in some ways but very disconnected in others. Technology is our friend and our foe at the same time.
Funny how all of it works for good and bad. We all wait for the latest devices that does the latest and greatest stuff only to see it bettered by new release. What will we see in the future in the next killer apps on the information superhighway? Only the future and people working on silicon valley and in other places know.
This post was inspired by a fellow blogger named Raymond. Check out his blog @ http://encouraginglife.co/
Rambling About Random Thoughts
As far as blogging and most things random thoughts are great. They are the best posts I think. I have a lot of random thoughts that make their way to my blog. Never be afraid to be spontaneous as far as posting goes. Some of the best things we can read are inspired thoughts based upon life and the things we encounter daily. That is why I love to blog both on mobile and the desktop because you never know when a random thought can develop into an idea and a post.
Language Barrier, Blogging Style
When a blogger from another country who writes in a different language decides to follow your blog it can be a tricky situation. There is an obvious language barrier there and you wonder why they might be following along. Maybe its to help them learn your language or for other reasons. Seeing their blog written in their primary language can be interesting.
Some things you can figure out if they are written in certain languages while other blogs are written in completely different characters like Cyrillic, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Hindi etc. They can be fascinating to look at even though you can’t read a thing.
Yes there are translation tools online but I am not certain they are 100% reliable. I welcome people from all walks of life but I just hope there is some understanding there. Building bridges of communication is always better than burning them if you ask me.
Old Soul, Young Soul, Age To Age
I am a older person who wants to have a younger soul, spirit, attitude. There are younger folks who have a old soul. Perhaps they both have something to contribute to the world..
We live in a world that is constantly changing and we have a choice to keep up or get left behind. How we relate to the world says something about us. People can embrace the new things going on or reject it by having the desire to live in the past.
As a older person I want to live in the world of the now and to understand it better. Remaining relevant is important because it informs you that you can still learn new things and meet people where they are. We all know people who live in the past and like it that way. Nothing in their lives changes.
Perhaps its a challenge to live in the here and now because you have to keep up. I think you can be a person of all generations while preserving the memories of your own era in time. The key thing is to live and learn where you are in the place you are.
There is a saying that old age ain’t for sissies and there is also a saying that youth will be served. Age to age, wisdom is still something everyone needs.
