It’s finally Friday, thank goodness. Today wraps up a busy week at work and in other parts of life. The week has been a good one I think. My weekend will be a little busy but that is alright. In a way its sad to live for the weekends but sometimes we are in that place where we need to chill out. Lets have a happy Friday and a happier weekend.

Post Length
I blog several times a day with posts of varying length. Some of my fellow bloggers here on WordPress are incredible writers who can pump out over 1000 words without sweat. My posts are lucky if they reach 200 words or so. You can get your point across in different ways whether it be words, pix, video, etc. However does a longer post get taken more seriously than a shorter one?
I guess I want to keep things brief or perhaps I just run out of things to say. Peoples life experience can influence and inform their blogging so I guess if you have done much you have a lot to say. One thing I can say is that I am a decent writer (who needs help with punctuation) and I am from the school that our attention span is shorter these days so I need to say what I need to say quickly. Not to say a long post can’t keep ones attention. Some folks can write forever on a subject and that inspires me. Writing comes from research, living and self examination and to be a better blogger who can write with authority doing those things can make a difference.
Well, WordPress tells me this post is over 200 words. Amazing.
Servant Leader
I think to be a great leader you must serve. I consider myself a servant first and a leader second. You have to set an example of service in order to inspire the work of others. You can’t just tell people what to do you have to show them how to do it. While you serve you can also train others to do good works. A good leader will work hard for their people to create opportunities for those they are in charge of.
Blood Donation – Give The Gift Of Life
I work for a blood bank in its telephone recruiting department. That means I call folks to set up blood donation appointments. In the year I have worked at our regional blood bank, Blood Assurance I have learned that giving blood is important. There are patients in hospitals who need it every day to save and sustain life.
The opportunity donate is a great way to help your family, friends and neighbors by having a safe and adequate blood supply available to those who need it. If you have an opportunity give the gift of life whenever you can. People who need it will thank you for it.
I Am Humble and I Am Contrite When Needed
Humility is a important character trait to have. Being contrite can help rebuild bridges that have caught fire through my own verbal mistakes. Admitting when one has done wrong is something I don’t have a problem doing. When there have been hurt feelings I will say sorry and I will want to try to reconcile with the persons I have offended. Never fear that when I have done somebody wrong I do what I can to make it up to them. The world has too many people who have chips on their shoulders over things that don’t mean much in eternity. Forgiveness is also a great virtue to have. So lets seek peace and cooperation among the world where we carry around burdens that could be let go.
The World Needs You!
We need more caring in the world. People willing to help out in times of trouble. Individuals who think about the community and those around them more than themselves. We need people of all stripes willing to make a difference. The world needs you, now more than ever. Be a hero, without a cape.
